Circular Economy and Sustainability Assistant Manager

Dow Thailand has an opportunity for
a Circular Economy and Sustainability Assistant Manager, based in
Bangkok. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced circular economy
and sustainability professional to join our fast-paced, collaborative team. The
successful candidate will be a positive, innovative problem solver who can
build trust with internal and external partners and drive impactful Dow’s circular
economy and sustainability project development and execution, including
plastics circularity and climate change initiatives.
You are expected to be a strategic
thinker who can develop strategy & implementation plans and execute
projects with meticulous attention to detail, work well under pressure, and
meet deadlines with minimal supervision. This role requires strong
accountability and ownership of assigned projects, proactive coordination with
internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to provide constructive
recommendations to the team.
Successful candidates will
demonstrate a strong ability to independently develop and implement circular
economy and sustainability projects under the direction of the supervisor, and
to influence others to ensure effective implementation and achievement of
project objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the development and successful execution of
circular economy and sustainability projects aligned with global, regional, and
local strategies particularly in plastics circularity, closing the loop, and
climate protection.
- Engage and coordinate with
internal and external stakeholders to build alignment, secure support, and
enable successful project set-up and execution.
- Provide problem-solving counsel
and solutions to the business in support of local and corporate
sustainability programs.
- Track project progress and
ensure timely delivery and expected results.
- Represent Dow on sustainability platforms, forums, networks, and
associations, and build strong relationships with other businesses, relevant
government agencies, and NGOs.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support
sustainability project design and implementation
- Develop high-impact
communications and circular economy & sustainability reports with
departmental contacts, ensuring messages align with the Company’s
sustainability ambitions and strategies and are tailored to different
audiences
- Work with vendors and agency
partners to support circular economy and sustainability projects
- Support ad hoc Thailand
communications and other projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in science,
social science, or a related field, with strong technical knowledge of the
UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), global and national
sustainability issues, climate change, circular economy, trends and
developments in sustainable plastics industries, and global/international
environmental policies
- 5-7 years of direct experience
in circular economy, sustainability, or related fields, with strong
network connections across relevant sectors.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability
to deliver impactful communications that drive audience buy-in and engagement.
- Excellent English communication skills (TOEIC > 800 preferred).
- Experience writing for large audiences, including feature writing
and copy editing, and working effectively in a matrix organization
- Strong passion and enthusiasm for sustainability and environmental
causes.
